We teach about LAG - Liability Asset Gap. One idea we share is putting less investment inside your house (private real estate) and investing the balance in REITs - why?

REITs are liquid, provide a higher return and yet they do have more risk... but remember it's about solving for the goals. You can't have more return, safety, and liquidity - at best you can have 2 of the 3.
